Your maximum, as you state at the start of your post is 9hrs extendible to 10 for 2 days only. The rules do clearly state your driving limit between 2 full daily rest periods or a weekly rest and daily rest period. Therefore your max on the week 56 (2x10 + 4x9) and 90 on a fortnight…
What are you defining as a DAY - the period between two daily rest periods or 24 hours?
The max driving of 10 hours can be done between daily rest periods but no more than that so 11.25 hours between daily rest periods is illegal
In 24 hours can be more taking this example … but not realistic
Finish daily rest and start shift at 0600
Drive 4.5 hours
45 min break
drive 4.5 hours
daily rest 9 hours
Time now at 0045
Drive 4.5 hours
break 45 mins
time now at 0600 which ends the 24 hours
That’s 13.5 hours driving in 24 hours
