Possible jobs going at JCB?

bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-st … e-34314653

JCB regularly have a news items in our local rag, sometimes front page, that they have won another order worth several million quid and things were looking up.
Most of these orders are in the UK though, but I suppose it’s all a matter of scale for a company that deals in hundreds of millions and has manufacturing plants all over the world.

Listening to their MD yesterday defending the cuts, he said that the UK is only 17% of their business nowadays :open_mouth:

That factory in Brazil has took a lot of jobs off the UK, same as India, who now manufacture the loading buckets and rams amongst other things for the UK :unamused:

To be honest, JCB takes on agency staff and lays them off like a yoyo. Trouble is with big ticket items like theirs, the market is always going to be somewhat volatile for them.

Same every year, laid a load off last Xmas last year then recruited around February again, guess it saves them paying staff over the festive period…Merry Xmas Mr Bamford.

Just checking Ebay for JCB Phone.
They are Waterproof and Shock resistant.

the one £45.- isnt expensive for that.

They’ve suffered a sales slump because their products aren’t as good as their competitors. The Chinese market isn’t doing well because their plant is as well if not better built. They’ll have more to worry about when Liugong expand their dealer network over here.
Customer after care is ■■■■ poor too. The ride control (basically active suspension) wasn’t working. JCB said it was, even after we got two of our JCB owning customers to test it. One of them has a 64 reg 3CX which has gone back for remedial work.
JCB, vastly becoming the BL of the construction game.

This cost the Bamfords’ a few quid. Riding in a bucket, one of the biggest no nos in plant operating.
