Just been to see them as I agreed months ago to help them out if they got stuck for a driver. Problem was, we had our wires crossed - I said I would help them out but they are now looking for a full time driver. Result was that we decided they’d be better looking for someone else as I don’t want full time work and nor do I want to commute to Leeds every day.
The company is Plantforce and their office is on Wortley Moor Lane, within West Leeds Commercials and I believe the wagon is based in a brick yard on Cross Green Ind Est somewhere. It’s a modern 44t FH12 gobbler in yellow with a matching tri-axle step frame trailer. You’ll be sharing it with their other driver and work on a rota system, days or nights or mixture if you want.
The work is mainly for Jarvis on rail maintenance and can be local or distance. They also do tracked excavator work up to 25t machines and go all over the country so there will be the occasional night out involved.
They said the current driver is being paid £8/hr on the books but before we got down to the nitty-gritty of what was involved and the hours they were happy to pay me my asking rates of £10/hr through the week, £15/hr Sats and £20/hr Sundays on self-employed.
