The protesting hauliers are too meet on Monday 28.12. and make final decision.
IMHO, it’s way too late for strike or similar protests and it’s also the worst time of the year to protest - with nobody in the Ministry’s office nobody can and will deal with their requirements - to postpone the start date and to reduce the rates.
The Ministry already said that it won’t cut the rates anyway.
There’re many unhappy hauliers, but they are not well organized - Cesmad SK, association of SK hauliers - is on the other side of the fence - as it’s the institution that won the contract to fit the OBUs - and charges 160eur a job…
So if there’s any blockade it’ll be a wild one with police towing the lorries away.
We’ll see on Monday.
Border blockades recalled.
The hauliers now want to discuss the requests with transport minister. If he does not see them, they threaten to block fuel stations. The minister says he’ll see them. Fuel station operators say they’ll ask police to order towing of anyone blocking their station.
In short, business as usual is to be expected.
