Portsmouth to Dundee - route & time

Evening all, just wondering if anyone has done this route recently & how far up you reckon is possible in a 10hr drive assuming average hold ups & nothing major on route !! Leaving at 10am tommorow with delivery anytime Friday morning. Potential route is:

A34
M40
A43
M1
M18
A1
A697
A68
& whatever it is beyond Edinburgh (mind has gone blank) !! Lol

Portsmouth to bellshill is 8h15 with no hold ups thru the night. Be another hour and a half to dundee?? Dunno what difference daytime traffic and going the m1/a1 to edinburgh will make.

Why fanny? A34, m40, m42, m5, m6, m74, a725, a8, m8, forth road bridge and follow the signs for Dundee! :grimacing: hope it goes well for you! Hamilton or Stirling services if you don’t fanny DRIVE! :sunglasses: keep her lit driver! :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing:

Reckon that’s the route then, fingers crossed for a decent run up.

Cheers All

When you get to Edinburgh you want the Forth Bridge and head for Perth cross the Friarton Bridge and then Dundee. This gives you M.way and D.C. all the way no need to do 40mph to keep the righteous ones happy.

Is that what the sat nav said?? And just for arguments sake you did want M1, it’s surely got to be A3 M25 out of Pompey.

But he doesn’t need to go near Edinburgh. My route was DC and motorway all the way.

Be nice to just get off Portsmouth, collection put back from 9 till 14.00 so sat like a lemon on this industrial estate till then !! Not sure how they still expect an AM delivery tommorow !!

The A1 at newcastle is a terrible road. Its a trunk road turned ring road so avoid between 7am and 7pm. A3 m25 m1 m6 m74 m73 m80 m9 a9 m90 a90. DC and motorway all the way
