Not far from the dock and Portsmouth has more pubs per square metre that just about anywhere else in the country.

your havin a laff aint you that’s a S h Y t hole
I’ve see loads of trucks pull into the loading lane and park. you have a shower block and a porta cabin with a microwave in it if you want …
If you want to pop out for a few hours go through the main building take your passport or driving licence they will give you a paper slip that’s stamped ( don’t lose it or you wont get back in) there’s a bar upstairs in the terminal area with food or if during the day
Exit terminal walk across the road towards the multi story carpark ( to your right 2oclock) to the main road .
turn right on the path and walk going past the garage , you’ll come to a jn with traffic lights turn right,( your heading to the navel dock).
befor the dock cross the road and go to the left high wall to your right (navy MOD ) you’ll come to Morrisons you’ll get a good meal there and you can pick up some supplies…
There was a dedicated overnight parking area in the dock, i think it cost about £8 or something like that. There was a toilet block next to it, just can’t remember if it had showers. But its a way to go to get food and drink then, you’d need it with you.
*[edit] Scrub that, i’m losing the plot. Wrong dock, i’ve no idea.
There’s some shops and I think an eatery in the new terminal. City centre is only a 10 or so minute walk from the ferry though personally if it was me and there was space I’d go down and park by Morrisons. Go past ferry exit then turn right signed Navel Yard then left at lights. Usually some space down there and a little closer to the centre

showers under the Freight Forward office Mike in the corner next to the Tug workshops … when I was there last year they didn’t allow parking over there as they would unload car transporters we would park in the unaccompanied trailer park to the right as you went in the dock

parkin maids got a bit ticket happy down there Luke as they weren’t parked in the white box I did think of that as a 1st point to park…
Park in the lanes and close your curtains.
I’ve done that in the past, then walk into town or go in the ship.

Ah, thought it was unusually quiet down there last week. This is when driving an Irish truck is handy, tickets be gone…into the bin.

yeah I stop there one night for a bit of shopping and she was shaking her head I just said I needed some bits an was told I wasn’t within the lines and would let me off but I had used the meter
Just resurrecting an old thread, but it seems more appropriate than starting a new one, I’m coming into Portsmouth from Caen tonight and I’ll need a couple of hours to finish my daily rest period. Any idea if I can stop in the port or will I need to leave and find somewhere to park?

You will not be allowed to stay in the docks best bet is the services on the M27 after the M3 turn off or take the Cosham turn off from the M27 and go under the M27 and take the first left plenty of room to park in the industrial area on the right hand side about a 10 minute walk will see you in Cosham. Do not use the truck stop that the port security will recommend to you if you ask them absolute rip off and flea pit of a place. If you get a good exit from the port you can make Sutton Scotney on the A34 I about 50 minutes.
The Hanks for the info, at least I know I can’t stay in the port, but I’m actually heading the other way though, so I’ll head for the services on the A27.
Pass the check point and turn left to where all the trailers are and the customs sheds then take 1st right you’ll prob see a few Paul Davis white Scanias parked up, just dive in between em that’s where I always parked with no bother.
You’ll see a building there it has loos in just say you had a gippy yum and sloppy rear end so you just wanted to park up, feeling unwell the last thing you want is to be driving
