Portsmouth Border FARCE, WHAT A JOKE!

So now, Brittany ferries are allowing tourists, all be it at a reduced number, to travel.

Docked Tuesday evening and as per usual, queued up to go through our normal farcical routine with the brain dead.

Noticed a log jam for the tourist exit, yes it gets busy this time of year, but we are talking 50% less traffic.
Looked across to where the tourist traffic exit is and out of the 10 lanes …

TWO OPEN

Guess where the numpties were, … you got it

20 + of them ■■■■■■■ us off,

The tourists ruined my summer going back and forth to Ireland. My main bug bear was when the announcement goes out that disembarkation is commencing car and foot passengers sit still they queue up by the stairs and lifts. Best one was on Epsilon when we were all crowded by the reception area (Which happens each trip) with families complaining about the 2m rule, well sit the F down then and let us get back to our trucks.

Still enjoying the private cabin’s :sunglasses:

Apparently it’s to do with the current Gov being tougher on immigration. These are the tougher controls the UK public asked for.
Having a truck bottle neck with just 2 lanes open, and the Border Force people stood around half the time, isn’t clever.

current Gov tougher on immigration? apart from the boatloads arriving every day on the South Coast :imp: :imp: :imp: :imp: :imp: :imp:

That is what the Pompey port authorities told our company.
Certainly been more Border Force staff, doing more checks, all taking much longer than previously. Ive no idea whether or not any extra are being found? Dont worry though. Some of those non-EU citizens who cant currently come here, will soon be able to come here perfectly legally, under the new points system. So long as they can earn £26k per year and there are vacancies, theyre in. Should please the poor hauliers who need drivers.

They seem to be in cahoots with Plymouth to see who can be the bigger shower of useless mouth breathers. I was lucky the other night to be near the front, only took about 30 mins to get out the port.

Must be a right pain doing ferry movements through there.

I know pierrot14 commented it was 2hr10min for him tother day. I know of a case of 3hr30 from boat to gate. Both instances during lockdown, with no cars there. Ferry couldnt load on time, as it couldn`t fully discharge.

Im looking forward to Jan 1st when we are fully out of the EU. Weve been promised frictionless borders then!
