This must be the one and only time I say thank god for MSA’s. They have (usually) clean, hot showers and they’re free. I’ll use one, then move on to a suitable free parking area.
No way would I consider using one of those portable things, for all and sundry to peer over top in a layby somewhere.

Is it me?

Off topic posts split off into a new thread in Feedback, will reply there.

Giblsa:

You lot dont know your born, when i was a lad, and the A1 was a mud track, i used to sleep across the bonnet, we didnt wash for a month, and ate sheeps eyes for breakfast. It would have been a luxury to have a colostomy bag. warmed up in the midday sun, and then use it for a shower…my god, people think its just been invented…lol…lol…drivers…wimps more like…ha ha ha

showers in trucks are not a new thing, many years ago F88 volvo’s came with one fitted outside on the back of the cab with a shower curtain…

Well…Well…where did you hear that rumour then OLT…ive driven a few F88/9s and F10/12/16s and FH12s…bewen everywhere, and never ever have i seen any model above with a shower fitted to any part of the cab…even in the dessert.
i have seen a inside shower…home made…and a sink/tap etc on a middle east spec, most under the bottom bunk, and one with one fitted in the space where the passenger seat used to be…

Unfortunately I never took a photo of the showers I rigged up when doing M/E.
My first one was on a Scania 142, lift up the front grille, big and square,I had a shower curtain which fastened to the four corners of it.A bracket behind the front bumper held a gallon water bottle,a screenwasher pump with switch, and a tube up to a nozzle overhead and bingo, one shower.Word soon got around, and if I was seen parked up for the night,I was never short of company,“Any chance of using your shower mate?”
After the 142 I had a Volvo F12,with a full width catwalk. Two shower curtains between the rear corners of the cab and the trailer tilt, water bottle on the roofrack, washer pump, switch and nozzle, way to go!

Yeah and we will want ■■■■■■■ trolley dollys next to make us a brew on the move next…fun topic though lol…mmmm ■■■■■■■ trolley dollys :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp:
