I’d buy a tablet and rip films from DVD and put them on the tablet.
No knackering DVDs, you can carry a dozen in the same space as a single DVD case, screen is better and you can use it to play games or go on the internet when you’re sick of watching films and you can also use it as a Satnav as well if you can use your mobile as a wifi access point.
Acer Iconia B1 is £99 and is a good 7" tablet with some good reviews.
Bought a cheapo one from aldi a couple of years since, wore the buttons out, battery wouldn’t hold charge after about 2 years use but it still played decent qualty discs.
Would buy another.
I’ve been alerted to the price of this one, not bad for under 30 quid, see if there are any left.
