Port of Tyne model for sale

I need some space in my workshop so reluctantly I’m selling some of my own collection of models.

1/24 scale model of a Port of Tyne Scania R470 in a DSC showcase £300

I really wouldn’t like to post this so its either collection or else I’ll carry it in my cab until I’m near where you live!

Hi lonewolf, I’ve followed your work along with the other modellers on truckmodelworld over the years. I Don’t wish to sound disrespectful imm just curious that’s all: how come these are commanding such a high price? I understand the effort that’s gone into them trust me.

Thanks, harryvr6.

Original kit £50
Many aftermarket parts can be anything from a few quid to over £100
DSC showcase £80
Getting the transfers done, starts at £25
Hundreds of hours of building
Glue, paints, tools, blades etc etc

Getting the picture now?

Just ask around and see if you can get anyone that does it professionally to build you one for any less. These are cheap!

Generally the going rate for a unit in a case is £400+ depending on complexity. This here is a bargain!

Hi Wolfie, that’s the only problem with the 1/24 scale models SPACE ! Ok if you got a couple but out of the 12 tractors and trailers I’ve done since i started 2 years ago I’ve kept 5 in show cases all the rest I’ve sold to the owners and drivers, I would have liked to have kept some of em but Space in my work shop with 5 still takes a lot of space, and the Mrs won’t have em in the house !!
But those are nice models and cases !! Bargin !
Good luck, see you at the next show !!!

Regards Jimski

Here’s a couple more P.O.Tyne models, built by Iain Wilkinson. These exhibits have been on show in the port. Regards Kevmac47

Aye I know Iain, I got the decals for this model off him. Last saw him at the Tyne Tees Run

Did you need to be such a prick about it? Or does that come with building models? He was asking a perfectly valid question in a respectful manner and you have a go at him.

Oh oh, Friday night looks like the beer’s talking. He answered a perfectly normal question with a perfectly normal answer. IMO. :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :unamused: :unamused: Regards Kev.

I don’t drink! The reply came across as stuck up and arrogant. It seems folk can post pretty much what they like on here so I thought I’d have a go at it

Who was having a go■■? Wasn’t intended that way

judging by the PMs I’ve had it did come across that you were having a go.

Not starting a row just making a point.
