Poor mans scania topline

I drive a scania R124 low cab which dont have a proper passanger seat with fold up bunk. I do live in this truck most of the time

Is it possible to put a fixed passanger seat in, take the box out and put a normal bunk in and top bunk for storage.

doesn’t that seat slide forwards so that you can lower the bunk down?

All the holes you need to put a proper passenger seat in will be there, same for the top & bottom bunks, you made need to cut through the interior trim to get to them, but they’re all there, they’re all captive nuts too, so all you have to do is bolt em in

Get down to a truck breakers or exporters & ask them to do a swap, through a few quid into the deal & offer to do the swap yourself & they may be more responsive when you ask :sunglasses:

no, the seat back folds down! the seat is fixed to the floor (unsprung) and can’t be moved. A stupid [zb] idea. We’ve got em and I can’t wait till we get rid! :unamused:

To the OP, there should be no reason you can’t put a proper seat in as all the captive nuts are in the floor under the rubber mat. You’ll just need a suitable donor seat and either keep the bunk as it is or like you say, get rid of the box and lower the bunk. Mate of mine has got a twin bunk in the same cab, so can be done!

swedish pile of ■■■, a match and a gallon of petrol will sort out ya problem

Thanks for the replies. We have 2 donor vehicles at the garage in Dublin so will have to get back over some time soon

Best cab layout i ever had. My first motor i had as an od was this setup. Acres of storage space. Plenty of room to move about. Why anyone would want to sit with their knees upto the dash i’ll never know. If i could of found one i’d of had another instead of the topline. Many happy days with that motor, 4/5 nights out a week.

Yeah the chair was about 30% wider than a standard passenger seat. really comfy and far enough back to stretch yr legs out. I’d have another one.

best way junk the silly ratteling middle box lower bunk down to floor p/s seat goes far enough back to sit in it comfy and will still slide back etc if needed, like the very 1st topliners was, and the topliner 3 series set up, all you do with boxes if fill em with crap you never really use but wont take the stuff out just in case you do :grimacing: :grimacing: and after 4 years you have never used half the crap you keep :grimacing:

WRONG BONG FOR GLOBBY!!! Its not like the topline passenger seat mate. its completely fixed/built in. It will not move at all.
