Sad for the girl but there are plenty of other ways to do it than possibly ruining someone else’s life. It’s just selfish. :frowning:

Think it’s poor everyone ,awful situation , lots of soul searching , many if only , very sad , by the grace of God

Don’t boggart that joint my friend…

Thats sad, for what is to me a trivial reason…god bless her and thoughts to her parents, but why do they decide to jump when a vehicle is approaching is beyond me, also putting their lives in danger, i dont mean to sound mean, but why dont they just hang themselves, in a wood, no one else around.

That is a thing in japan. Hundreds of dead bodies just hanging out…

But yes, very sorry for the girl and her parents. Some people might be able to relate, but there’s always a better option. I encourage anyone having suicidal thoughts to seek help immediately. The Samaritans are a group that spring to mind. And that got dark quickly…

Another case of everyone being a loser, I certainly feel for everyone involved and I have a 17 yr old girl and they can be a breed apart what with stress, school, image etc etc.

It’s all so sadly predictable with modern day pressures which force young women especially and the working class generally to conform to an alien Chinese work ethic of acedemic achievement and then a ‘career’. :unamused: With no room to rebel in the form of taking some time out without massive sanctions being applied,to do what they want to do with none of the bs pressures of the ‘education’ system regime.

On that note most 17 year old women in previous times would have been more interested in looking for a husband to look after them and maybe a part time job to help with household expenses. After getting the school years over having rightly taken as much unauthorised time out from those as possible. :imp: :frowning:

Indeed. They place so much importance on getting good grades, which can help, but IME, they have little to do with success in life in comparison with e.g. working hard, getting on with or (unfortunately) exploiting people and luck. Most important is to try to be happy no matter what, I think. Anyway, what a terribly tragic thing for everyone; the teacher in the car must imagine “what if”.
