anyone read the story in the sun 17 1 15 about dean parlett finding a poodle scavenging for food,he is now allowed to keep her after nursing her back to health and the original owner saw the special bond between them, dean said people take the mick when they see a poodle with him in his hgv he says he don’t care about the mickey taking and rightly so,personally I think its a great story, fair play to him for saving her
Aye good on you Dean these stories of animals being dumped are unfortunately to common and when you watch the animal rescue films on telly you find that a lot of the people are living in squalor and hardly fit to look after their selves let alone an animal. And when they do manage to get a conviction for cruelty they get the old slap on the wrist. Eddie.

so true,i will never understand certain elements of the human race and why they feel they have to be cruel to any kind of animal, the punishment should fit the crime

Then you get the other situation where some hard up folk put the animals needs before their own as the pet is possibly the only company they see.
The road near Ballidon quarry in Derbyshire where I worked used to get dogs let out of cars and left, it was only seven miles from Ashbourne where there is a brilliant animal rescue centre! There was a beautiful brown dog dumped one day, just left on the grass verge, and it was still sitting there hours later waiting patiently for its owner who would never return. One of our drivers phoned a local farmer and he took it in, presumably it got taken to the rescue centre eventually? Another dog wasn’t so fortunate, it was thrown from a 4X4 and roamed around for ages resisting capture before alas getting run over by a truck and killed. Just a pity that it was the dog and not the owner.
I have no time whatsoever for animal cruelty, well done to Dean for giving the pooch a loving home.
Pete.
