Pollock & Dalkeith Transport

Been offered shifts for rest of the week with both these companies from 2 different agencies, I think they are both part of the palletways network, does this mean that the work will be more or less the same with both?

Pollock is Palletways and Dalkeith is Palletforce. But yes, both jobs will be very similar. Same kind of work.

Dalkeith are in both  depends which depot its for

Just realised that Dalkeith do some Palletways in Glasgow but not sure about in Edinburgh. They share a yard with Caledonian Logistics in ■■■■■■■■■■■■

Its Dalkeith depot

so…which would you take (if any haha  )

Depends which is closer to your home really.

Dalkeith but only by around 6 miles

If you aren’t too bothered what you drive then Dalkeith. But if you want to drive something a bit more fancier, then Pollocks.

Who ever is paying the most, that’s where I’d go

Agreed, who ever is paying the most.

Could be multidrop nightmare. Ask. Pollocks has plenty trunk/changeover work.

done both, wont touch either now

DT are ■■■■ to work for you’d be better at pollock, haven’t met a driver with a good thing to say about them…

I done a couple of weeks there last Xmas a couple of weeks after passing my C, first couple of days were fine but they just keep sticking more and more on you… Then there is waiting to get inside the warehouse at the end of your shift to get any undelivered stuff unloaded but there are 2 trunks and several other rigids in front of you! Hahaha if you have a choice give it a serve buddy…

Edit… Had to cut this rant short as I’m loaded but I could go on for a while regarding smart asses in the office who try chase you over the mobile etc. only reason I put up with it at the time was because I’d just passed my class 2 lol.

On to far bigger and better things now

Good luck!

Dalkieth are constantly advertising jobs, so that speaks volumes. Dalkieth depot is in newtongrange, on the a7 so a couple miles out from dalkieth itself

Plus they drive green wagons, this would be a big factor to me

I did a couple of shifts with Dalkieth, they are ZB.Go with the other lot.

as pavaroti says,it could be multi drop and that you do not need, done palletways for 14 months out of greenford middx, most of the week it was day trunking up to lichfield with a double decker,on a monday when there was no trunk i went out on class 2 multi drop, what a pig that was, pallets weighing nearly a ton and you were expected to offload on a tailift, delivering to private houses where customers expected the impossible,a sxxt job run by a sxxt manager and a sxxt ops ,if any other driver worked at this depot it would be interesting to hear what their opinion is,

I am not disagreeing with you but just some friendly advice, publishing someones name with allegations and insults is liable. It is not liable if it is true and YOU can back it up. However I would not have published the name

Got to be Pollocks! Far bigger company with more contracts, if they like what they see you might get a job out of it. Dalkeith constantly advertising, never a gd sign
