Could not smash a grape let alone mafia criminal gangs operating from Georgia, Macedonia, Albania, Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, Moldavia and countless other countries where there’s no law and order.
There are a minimal amount of maritime shops in northern France that could keep up with the supply and demand to sell ten dinghies a day so the criminals import them from China then shipped in to Turkey for overland transport to France.
What a waste of time that meeting was with the Germans ,harping on about how we would liaise with them to intercept lorries carrying boat engines and dinghies transiting through Germany, that was all spin and posturing to appease the gullible public.
The BALM ( Truck police) can’t stop every single lorry, it’s not illegal to have a load of engines or dinghies, but assume if they were stopped ,then questions may be asked.
You have tacked a bit on the end of your catch-phrase then.
“Left hand down a bit” ?
(you may be too young for that)
Yeah took a leaf out of your book… ram home the narrative for maximum effect.
Point is it is nevertheless true.
Ah well…it seems like SOME ‘‘fishers’’ ..are happy with Starmers ‘‘fantastic’’ deal, the ones of the French variety… Le Pescheurs’’
And it appears they think ‘something has changed’ as well as our own…‘‘fishers’’ (still find that cringeworthy but amusing )
Also a farmer was on radio this morning…seems since this ‘‘new deal’’ he now has to abide by EU rules, to the point where if he gets inspected, they could close him down…Ok I don’t know how much truth is in that, but if true it’s as if Brexit never happened.
He now has to abide by EU rules ?
So what has changed since last week? So what has changed since 2021?
What EU rules would he like to break?
Apart from being allowed to put fizzy wine into pint bottles, and being allowing companies to put more ■■■■ into our rivers, “what has Brexit ever done for us”?
You best ask him mate, he’s a farmer, he knows a lot more about this stuff than me…(and you.)
Unless you are an expert on the farming business as well as the ‘‘fishers’’ business of course.
I did say I was not aware of the full details…but nice to see you jumping to the defence of the EU once again, like some kind of natural reaction
Oh ffs Toby don’t get him started man.
He doesn’t need any encouragement as it is.
But Boris doesn’t have a tractor licence.
I have consistently said that being inside the EU is a bit crap.
–.–.–.
–.–.-=.
–.–.-.
I have also said that being outside it is very crap.
And you always believe everything you are told…right…
Does it not occur to you that maybe those who farm, and fish, just might have their own bias on subjects like this?
Leslie Phillips - The Navy Lark followed by Round the Horne. Radio comedy at its best.
And there he goes again…straight into patronising smart arse mode
No I don’t believe everything I am told, that is more your thing.
I told you last time,…I have a farmer friend who works really hard,.but is definitely not in the ‘wealthy farmer’ bracket…do you remember when you were pontificating on here about the farmers,.and I told him about you, and he said to tell you …were a ■■■■?
I have no reason to dis believe what he says about Starmer and the farmers,…(come to think of it nor his opinion on you.)
I’m sure if I had a friend or aquaintance who was a ‘‘fisher’’ …he would have a similar view…on BOTH counts.
Of course they have bias…that does not mean that they are wrong and you are right.
It’s like the covid fiasco and the medical people telling us our days were numbered and to stay in the house hidden under the table wrapped in cling film praying all day…(ok I exaggrrate) I would assume they were also biased on that subject…
Didnt stop YOU swallowing it hook line and sinker,.and pushing their official narrative diwn our throats on here…
Did it?
.
A very easy and clear example of generalised bias on an “industry” media source would be :
and
A group of professionals whose principle playground is the public highway complaining about a different group of people. If you peruse some of the comment from these older posts, you’ll see several truck drivers who are also cyclists. So it’s not entirely biased.
Up until last month a growing number of motor vehicle drivers were, like pedal cyclists, not paying bo diddly squat in VED. As we all know, far too many dangerous drivers out there without insurance, and often without a valid licence. Vehicles without MOTs.
We’ve all got our horror stories of idiot cars pulling out in front us when we’re fully loaded with the Victoria and Albert Museum Glass department contents sent for cleaning. We’ve all seen other drivers scoot straight through red lights. Drivers using roads they’re prohibited from. Driving over footpaths to undercut queuing cars. In 40 plus years of driving, I think I’ve seen it all, but maybe there’s still more lunacy to experience.
So blaming cyclists for treating a stop line as a ASL, nipping across a footpath to avoid a bad roundabout or whatever, is usually not nearly as egregious an offence as some of the ■■■■■■ things drivers do. I acknowledge that a few pedestrians have been injured or killed by bad cycling. But far far fewer than by bad driving.
And lastly, while some cyclists might be just clowning around, just like a lot of boy racers do but over a wider area, the majority are just going from A to B by bike rather than car maybe because they can’t afford a car but are following Tebbit’s mantra.
And a cyclist is a human. Just as a driver is. So is it a tad biased of a trucking social media to denigrate and diminish cyclists as scum of the earth. I think so. But it happens, just as it happens on any other motoring site. And I’d imagine a few motorcycling sites may well have their focus more on truck drivers spilling diesel and idiot car drivers.
Bias everywhere, so chill out, step back, read up and make your own mind up about it all. There’s some definition of an expert I understand well from life experience.
An expert is someone who is certain of their own opinion
number 2, 5 and 7 please
Yes…as ever…
I got my full tractor licence free of charge. Did poor little Boris miss out on that freebie, ah diddums poor pet.
Meanwhile. I’m really not sure about this. On the one hand, it ain’t the British Isles and never has been. However according to the history books it was originally empty before we did nick it as our own.
So we’re spending millions each year out of a decimated budget. I smell a rat somewhere but can’t quite put my finger on it yet. After all the Shetland Islands were earlier Norwegian territory. I get a feeling this isn’t going to blow over soon.
