Police Tell You To Move

As Rikki politely explained…they have the upper hand, there is no excuse for ignoring their demands…and your first reaction will show their reaction and attitude…a 45 minute break wont cut it either.you as a driver, have no rights whatsoever, when it comes to parking where you shouldnt…there is a thing called leeway and most will give some of that, depending on your attitude…so get all bolshy…and see them at their worst.

Braveheart2009:
what if you called your boss on your mobile and he/she was unavailable?

Would you hand your phone over to the police? Or would you give them the number for your boss and they can call them from their own phones?

I would use speakerphone incase they take your phone for inspection?

Firstly, as a copper. If I see a truck parked up on the side of the road I would not give a flying hoots, that’s the job council parking attendants to worry about a truck … your doing your jobs.

If i have I been called by a MOP … I would come and speak to you the driver, if you are committing an offence under the road traffic act (illegally parked) I would ask if the local authorities have given you an exemption to park in said area etc … if you have none and you are waiting to unload and. You are causing an obstruction …, I would ask you nicely to move on … if your not causing an obstruction, I would state a mop has complained to the police and explain clearly why I am having a word … I wouldn’t want to speak to the manager, because if you were illegally parked with no justification then you would be getting the points and fines etc …if you were acting up … ( generally trucks don’t normally illegally park?

In 9 years of policing in London and now four in Sydney, I have yet to come across a trucker with attitude, bar carryfast.

In relation to the phone, why would you think the copper would seize your phone… ■■

1st thing your normal plod tries to do if you are filming him is to tell you that its illegal and that your phone will be confiscated if you dont stop as they assume your ignorant of the law about filming anyone in a public area.
they react the same way a dog does when you blow in its face when you can tell them its perfectly legal and that you will be continuing to film for your own security and safetty, though its perfectly legal to do so just for the sake of it.

To be fair, when I stop a vehicle, all conversations are recorded … and I can’t wait for my personal issue body cam … I don’t care if they get the phone out and record.

I know in the UK, the police are starting to roll out person cameras to record interactions … I agree, they misuse the terrorism act to try and justify the bull … but in this instance I would be like wtf, why would I want to talk to your boss …
