How many litres are there in four tonnes? surely it makes more sense to quote litres than tonnes.

A bit over 4000 litres.

seems he wont be doing the charging

This is getting common, cutting the covers off the tank vent pipes, shoving a pipe down straight ionto the tank and using a hi flo marine pump to sup the diesel out. I’m guessing this is a 7.5 tonner with 4 IBC’s in it.

I work for Hanson out of Whittlesey and we had all 30 of our Trucks hit over the weekend, they got about £8000 worth of fuel!!! The good thing is , is that they caught them 'Red handed '… They were charged today but released on bail !!!
Oh and they were Latvian…NOT IRISH!!!

I have said in the past it is not just the travelers now days.

I know what your opinions are on the police, but isn’t your company doing anything to prevent this from happening?. Tell your boos to ring Jenson Security. They provide alarms that go straight to your boss’s mobile phone which will let him know if some body is on there land.

HTH

Man arrested after police spot thief siphoning fuel at garage

FOUR tonnes of diesel was found in the back of a lorry by police investigating a theft from a garage forecourt.

A 46-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of theft after a police patrol spotted someone acting suspiciously at the Y Pas garage, on the A38 at Egginton, on Saturday night.

As the police car pulled up, they spotted a man siphoning fuel into large containers.

He spotted the patrol and started to run away. A man was later arrested.

Police found the stolen diesel in the back of a lorry and fuel had also spilled on to the carriageway, forcing the closure of the road while it was cleared up.

The incident happened at 9.15pm.

The arrested man, from St Helen’s in Merseyside, is still in police custody.

A force spokesman said: “The accused man has been arrested on suspicion of theft and we are also investigating whether the van is also stolen. The road was closed until 11.45pm while the fuel spill was cleared up.”
