Pointless Load of the Week

Tipped in Sittingbourne last week rang office and was told to go empty to Bridgwater.I’m payed empty mileage so happy day’s.

i know its not a millon miles apart but i drove from ballam to hampsted with one tray and in that tray was…2 loafs of bread i kid you not and the best bit right oposite the garage is a waitrose.

I once got sent from Harlow to Lewes to pick up a small (8t) piling rig and move it 1.1km, that was my days work. I’m sure a local plant firm would have done it for a couple of hours money.

A couple of years ago one of our machines was on hire near Victoria station in London, we had to send the lowloader up to move it from one gate to the next one which was the length of the trailer :unamused:

Done the same sort of thing with me Dad a couple of years ago, two machines literally around the corner, took longer to load them than it did to drive 'em. It was about 1AM as well so the roads were quiet as well!

Took a single cake from Kates Cakes near Horsham up to a Morrisons in Leeds, and 3 slices of cake to Marks and Spencer offices in London on the way back.

I have done the same in the past to M&S in London, collected 3 sample loaves from Harvestime bakery in Walsall for an 8am delivery, sent in a puddle jumper too, what a waste but they paid :stuck_out_tongue:

My pointless load is every night as i pick up and deliver the daily mail …

Do you need an ADR for that? The Daily Fail is very dangerous :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

Friday afternoon, got back to the yard in Harlow at about 2pm having been to Tilbury Docks, all happy thinking i was going home, I got told i was going back to Tilbury  , Not happy.
So i get unloaded, Roar back down to the Docks, only to get a phone call as i was going through the dock gates to say that the load hadn’t been released, so i turned round and came home empty.

What a waste of time

Chelmsford - Northampton - Wisbech last week…empty

Are the cows on strike   .

Sent 3 artics to load Friday - one main piece not ready so ‘just take the 1 tonne piece that was going with it on the trailer’ - ok not in the realms of one small parcel, but all the way to Tromso! :open_mouth:

I was sent 114 miles with a 44 ton artic to a store with 1 cage on it!

And then you probably started crying in the office because you are overworked and tired and feared for the safety of
all around you. And the waste of fuel that could safeguard 1000’s of jobs.

Fixed that for you!

Well done for not getting killed

Hi to you all,it seems to me that you lot are not looking at the Bigger picture. That is the answer that I got in the past when questioning what I would consider a waste of time, money and resources.Regards Todd

Well somebody wanted JIT

None of this courier Hot-Shot, just get it here, whatever it costs and a big thanks at the end of it.

Wednesday morning I was sent from Cambridge to Besancon, France empty. Collecting an urgent load for Bristol. Slight problem when i arrived, the load had already been despatched last week :open_mouth:

Still sitting here waiting for a load to or from somewhere else

Oh the joys of the open road

I left York on Friday morning with an artic flatbed carrying the grand total of 150kg. All the way down to Rochester, tipped and reloaded with 1.2t and back to Barnsley. 456 miles for less than 2t total.

12 pallets of frozen from Ireland to Grangemouth with the “promise” of a handy backload . Rang in to the office for my backload - " Load of fruit in Tilbury mate , quick as you can "
