Poblo de Villabona,Merche Improver SL,Spain

Put Avenida de maquiva(SN=Sin numero=without a street number),Canyada rua to find onion packhouse of Merche Improver SL,ignore that because takes truck through towns weight limit on very small streets, head further up on the new bypass and come off, then back towards Poblo, this time ignore weight limit signs as turn left to access pack house.Anyone else had problem trying to find packing houses?

No, I just ask a local.

“Estoy buscando una empresa con nombre de (insert name of company)”

And orft you jolly well go!

usually any Bar or petrol station will know where they are just shove a piece of paper under their nose.
Failing that look for a distribution vehicle from Azkar or Seur or someone similiar they will definitely know.

Once spent 4 hours looking for a dump of a waste paper yard in barcelona.

I havn’t been to pobla’ for a few years now but used to load ‘Improver’ onions almost every trip, the pack house used to be called Tortajada Y Garcia (excuse spelling) then the Girl (Mercedes) that ran it for her dad bacame a partner and they moved 200mts down the road from opposit VRV down the hill to the Xroad, turn right (towards the tile/brick works) and they where 50mts on the left. At that time they became ‘Mercedes Tortajada Y Garcia’, this would be about 1998.

I take it the weight limit sign you refer to is (if coming into Pobla the wrong way) the left turn where the road kinks right?? this was always limited but none of us took any notice, up to the cross roads, straight on and go right at the fork, and they where 2nd pack house on the left. Sounds like they’ve moved back to their old gaf!

I weekended there a few times, not the best place to spend 3 nights but I’ve stopped in worse.

Ross.

Anyone ever load in the late 80’s at Snr Troc’s packhouse in Lerida?? to get there you had to go down some proper narrow streets with balcony’s lower than 4m!! could’ve been nasty in the dark.
