I guess that you don’t really understand how little a difference POA makes to anything

I guess that you don’t really understand how little difference anything makes?
If you have to worry about using POA, you’re working for the wrong company. I’ve never used POA.
I dont worry about it, I use it to my advantage. Perhaps not everyone does the same job as you or wants to live as you do.
I used to use POA but now never, now other work crossed hammers to show start work walk around checks.
Then all day, use bed symbol, for loo stops, and waiting around at places, and off course the tacho breaks.
In my mind there’s 2 reasons to use poa, both of them only apply if you’re bothered about your wtd working time hours, as in want to keep them as low as possible.
1, you get paid off the tacho and all recorded breaks are deducted, so you’d use poa when waiting
2, if you’ll be waiting for over 45 mins somewhere, but taking a full 45 min break at this point would mess your day up, so have a 15-44 min break then poa for the rest.
I don’t see any other reason to use it and as it messes up your drive time on the display, it makes sense to only use when you really need to.
It doesn’t shaft you like some would make out, as break does exactly the same thing to wtd working time hours
I used to use it more than I do now, but for the same reassign as you with it resetting your driving time I don’t now. Put it on break and leave it at that. It works well because bid you end up getting a 45 in at a delivery then your reset and you’ve got more options open for where to take another break then. I still take another break if I want it away from the delivery point, but the first 45 will have already covered me legally.

You’ve got your way and I’ve got mine. I just don’t understand why so many get themselves in such a tizzy about POA when it can sometimes come in handy.
It will come down to the company you work for and if they treat you well.
I’m under the impression Stobarts demand you use poa so they can max you out I guess.
I’m not sure what my next company is like as I’m not there yet. Though I do remeber the guy in the interview that they have one place you need to use POA.

You can max out just the same using rest mode with additional benefits to boot. Anybody working for a firm that discourages you from doing this by not paying for breaks showing on the tacho might want to think about finding another job. Unless they like the vaseline rub of course…

Fortunately my new place pays for breaks. [WINKING FACE]

As long as you get your 30 in before you hit the 4.5 hours is up you’ll be fine. Next time just put it on rest and leave it there.
