I remember them, they had white trucks. I worked for Albert Hymas in the 70’s and 80’s and used to meet them on the Spanish run.
I don’t know anything else about them unfortunately.

I remember Plowmans…■■■■ Plowman. They ran livestock as well as doing Europe. Livestock was their original work. Based just outside York on the Wigginton Rd. As far as I’m aware they only have the yard and garage left which accomadates some of Deveraux trucks and do maintainance.

I only knew one Plowmans driver who parked the DAF in the Kings Arms in Newport, If I remember he didn’t do much else :stuck_out_tongue:

Yes Chris Beale did work for Ploughmans he did regular Portugal from Rowntrees. think he might be retired now though but still lives in york, I used to drink with him and Paul Watson many moons ago, happy days. regards doublereduction :smiley: :slight_smile:

One of their drivers used to have a stutter, think his name was Tony

Regarding chris beale I heard was working for Virgina ireland but has since stopped driving due to ill health.
