I’ve had some great, and very much appreciated responses and advice from here before, so here I ask again
Hereford, Gloucester, Avonmouth or Newport?
I’m now in a position where I can do class 1 tramping, and really want to get off of agency work. I live near Newport, Gwent, but the pay seems rubbish here. Avonmouth is 35 mins drive and some say much better pay?
Other options are Hereford or Gloucester as at least when I’m running back to the yard, it’s partly in the direction I need to be heading when needing to pick up my daughter before heading home to South Wales.
42, clean licence. Class 2 since 2009, Class 1 since September 2018. MPQC, telehandler ticket. Experience on tippers, vacuum tankers, hook lift and chain lift skips, walking floor, flat bed modular and steel, general haulage, double deckers, multi drop and central London work.
Tbh I’m pretty switched on and confident to do anything.
If you’re switched on enough, use your telehandler ticket on building sites for far more than you’ll get HGV driving, do less hours and have weekends off

My ticket is the RTITB one mate and most want CPCS. Also need CSCS card and references.
Mainly used mine using the bucket to load soil onto the hook lift or tippers when on recycling jobs.
I hear what you’re saying tho. Use what I have to better my situation. Definitely something for me to consider and look into
i hear ardent in avonmouth are looking for drivers moving plant 33k for 45hrs salaried not to many nights out might be worth a call

I don’t think a telehandler ticket is worth much, speaking as someone who has one!
