If he is that bad there is a lot of help out there for him he need to contact Citizens advice asap they will help with all the forms tell him what he is entitled to which will be a lot more than what he is getting now the sooner he does the better as it will be back dated also need to claim for PIP ( gov.uk/pip ) as well as a blue badge for car
As animal says, either your mate or someone needs to get things sorted for him.
If he had a terminal diagnosis then ask his GP or oncologist to fill in a DS1500 form… gpnotebook.co.uk/simplepage … 3747160230
Once this is done he will be entitled to PIP (personal independence payment) which amounts to £141pw paid into his bank every Monday,he really needs to get this sorted as a matter of urgency…money is something he should not have to be worrying about!
I’ll tell you something that the mcmillam nurse told my wife…it’s a bit blunt but to the point.
She said it’s extremely unlikely you’ll live to reach an age where you will get a state pension so unless you claim everything you can from the government NOW all those years of paying into the system will go to waste and you’ll get nothing back, you should maybe explain this to your friend.
Also if he has any pensions set up that he has being paying into then these will also pay out everything he’s paid in as a tax free lump sum upon diagnosis of a terminal illness.
I appreciate what your doing with the donation thing but there is so much help out there for him and it needs someone to get this sorted ASAP to take any money worries away.

Serious situation. Clearly more money needed. I’ll have a dig down the back of the sofa. I’m sure I can find something to contribute to-day.
That was very generous ,you must have a large sofa
I have just done a tally on how much we have raised so far.
By my reckoning. £1415.00 has been donated through the web page, but some have also donated directly to Tim
Tim has also received about £140.00 with people putting donations through his door.
So my estimate is, that as a result of this appeal.
We are looking at donations in the region of about £2000.00. Which is truly fantastic.
This is allowing Tim to pay his bills, while we sort out something more realistic for the longer term.
Tim and I will get together this week and try and make some sense of how we need to go forward.
Be pleased with yourselves, because due to my appeal on this forum. The kindness and amounts donated
have been unbelievable. The kindness shown is hard to grasp !
When I appealed on here. I hoped that a few kind hearted people might chip a few quid into the pot.
So many have you, have gone way, way beyond what might have been expected.
Truly, I cannot thank each of you enough. You have helped a fellow driver keep his life together, when
most of it is falling apart. I cannot begin to tell you how much of a difference, you have made.
We cant let down a fellow trucker, who has fell on hard times, let alone a member of the public also on hard times…so i give where its due, and it was a pleisure to give to TIm in his hour of need…i hope he had a better xmas than he would have done, and i hope the future looks a lot rosier…best regards Trucky.
