Any freight operators we know signed up for this? Would this even work on our overcrowded road network.
“TRL – the Transport Research Laboratory – wants to hear from freight operators that could help contribute to the UK platooning trial.” commercialfleet.org/news/tr … ning-trial
Platooning is already a common practice with trucks driving around close up to the one in front, so close they can’t see the brake lights come on in the truck in front
Ive always wondered what happens if the guy at the front messes up. Would he legally be responsible for damage or injury further back in the platoon?
As granddaddylow.
Anyone with an ounce of sense volunteering to sit in the following lorry unable to see anything up front, yet in the case of an emergency able (and to be held responsible) of taking over and making the right decision to save the day in a split second after only focussing on the arse end of a lorry a few yards in front for miles on end.
I thought this ■■■■■■■■ had been put to bed where it belongs, still can’t blame the bods involved keeping this sort of thing going, pays well no doubt and beats the hell out of a real days work.
