Is there a product that can protect my digi, like what airport staff where around their necks,a plastic slide in wallet where you can keep the digi when not in use, that why you will never forget to bring it to work if it is hung around your neck.
At the moment, mine is mixed up with bank cards with magnetic stripes on,that can not be good for the digi, also the digi will not end up in the washing machine on a 100 degree wash and spin cycle, when you have forgotten to take it out of your trousers.
I use the free ones from SANEF and SAPN. they are a plastic cover with a slide hole for your thumb
Just search ebay for “Lanyard ID card holder”
You can buy them from the FTA for a couple of quids
I bought a handful from TACHODISC ages ago, I was gonna sell em to the lads at the yard.
I use around 5-6 in my bag to keep various cards protected, (driving licence, digi, adsa green card, DCPC card etc).
I probably still got the odd 1 or 2 new ones spare laying around.
but you can also get em off EVILBAY for pennies in every colour imaginable
Edit: I found that I have 4-5 spare in a draw, if toby PMs me an address I
ll send him 1 FOC
Ask your dealer !
I got a freebie one of a renault dealer a while back(only decent thing from renault lol)
The magnetic stripes on credit cards will have no effect on your digicard. You could swipe your digicard across a strong magnet (e.g. the ones you find in loudspeakers) without any effect on the card or its contents - the same is not true for credit cards though . The card is also pretty much impervious to damage from being put through a washing machine. The working parts of the “chip” are all safely encapsulated in plastic, and the visible contacts are gold plated, so won’t be damaged by a bit of hot water and detergent.
The thing you need to be wary of is high voltage “static” electricity - which can easily be generated by rubbing certain materials against one another, particularly in very dry conditions.
I use a train ticket holder for mine
I never go to work without my battered old folder file with all my bits and bobs in it, so I made my own card wallet using paper and a stapler, and the card lives in its homemade wallet, which lives in my folder.
When you have as many senior moments as me, you just have to have a system
Whenever I’m at work theres a tiny litle drawer in the lorry that fits my card perfectly, seems to work ok, when I’m not at work I just stick it in my wallet with my licence.
I have all my documents in one of these
