What’s the difference between an allocator, a router, a scheduler & a planner?

An allocator is a big lizard with loads of teeth, a router is a computer thingy that makes the internet go, a scheduler is a stick for measuring sheds and a planner is one of those poster things with dates on (not the fruit kind).

That’s impossible for a planner, the computer won’t allow swear words !
& as stated above, they’re always outside smoking. [emoji100]

Drivers blame planners. But in same situation planners blame drivers, because drivers not correct sometime.if planners will do all what talk drivers any company go to in adminisration and bankrupt .

My planner was a ■■■■■. Untill my new gf told me a few stories about her that could cost her her marriage. Suddenly she’s as nice as pie to me and I get all the best routes. Heehee

You’re only as good as your planner

The clue is in the word planner. They plan something that in an ideal world is achievable, it just takes an rta or some unexpected road works to ruin the plan, then it is up to the traffic office staff to recover the situation. Most drivers do not have possession of the whole picture, so what might seem stupid to them might actually make sense. I think all drivers should have a day in planning to see how it works, vice versa for the planners. I have been in quite a few jobs where the drivers dictated to the planners, and it turned out the trucks were being quite badly under utilised, which in turn impacted profits which in turn suppressed wages which in turn aggrieved the same set of drivers. Sometimes we are our own worse enemies.

Should they be ringing you when your logged on break?? As if the other 12 hours isn’t enough for them eh!!!

My last shift before hol ,your working at another depot ,another driver will take you there and you’ll use one of there trucks, off we go ,half hour later phone rings and told to turn round and come back as they’d now got me a truck ,one of the 4 that were stood there when I left :unamused: :unamused: .
