Plenty of use of the mirrors, take as much room as you need,if in doubt take more and although you have to get up to the respective speed limits keep it nice and slow for all your manouvres. And make sure you get a decent nights kip before your test.If your instructor says you’re ready for the test,YOU ARE,believe in him and yourself.Everyone is nervous on test,a little nervous tension is ok but keep the lid on it.You WILL make some mistakes on test but don’t chuck it half way through thinking you’ve failed when you very possibly haven’t.And I wish you all the best expect to see you posting soon to tell us about your SUCCESSFUL test drive, good luck
Tarten has covered most thing so I can only add this point… as tarten said, keep all the manoeuvres slow… I was told… you can only make progress in a straight line… so dont rush. and take you time… and above all , enjoy it.
Also, some examiners do talk to you during the test, but dont be afraid to tell them if it is putting you off.
Good Luck buddy, and keep us posted on your progress…
I agree with not quiting on test even if you think you’ve mucked it up. I started to move at a roundabout and had to stop for a car coming, thought I’d blown it cos I was stuck out halfway. I must say it’s a bit of a blur in my mind now, but I can only guess the examiner thought the car was going too quick, cos I passed the test.
Also I’ll reinforce about the speed, my attitude on test day was ‘I don’t care if I fail for going too slow’ and it just paid off, I got several minors for improper speed and the examiners big point in the debrief was that I need to build up speed quicker.
