Evening all. I’m 41 and looking at a change of career. I have completed my D4 medical and sent that and the D2 off to the DVLA and then once I have my licence back I can book my theory tests. When those are completed I can apply for for funding for my training through the Welsh government’s PLA scheme.
I was wondering if anyone here has gone through this route and what sort of timescales I am looking at having so I can work out how to book my annual leave.
Guess you mean funded hgv training from being re educated?
If so Red rose training in Bolton did something similar about 10 years ago . Was out of work so enquired. Had sit at a pc answer questions. Kind of basic GCSE level maths English etc. … I got 90%
was told I’m to educated not entitled to the funding.
Story short was told take test again answer questions wrong.
Then they can re educate me over 6 months period where I will take the test again and pass then they will train me to take hgv lessons.
Complete waste of time so declined.
Just paid for lessons myself.
if you have an interest free credit card offer I’d be tempted to use it if you can afford the monthly payments
Red rose one was more designed to re educate people out of. Work to get them working again. Was basically a con they. reeducate you then govement paid them and you got free training. As for you sorry can’t help but guess it would be a similar thing
No worries mate. I usually take a week off in January for my anniversary. I had a chat with she who must be obeyed, and if I lose a week’s pay for using too much holidays, so be it.
