PL to Italy

Got a gig at the Celtica Festival in Northern Italy this weekend. Its held in Courmayeur, so not far from the Swiss border. I will be driving a car, but interested to opinions to the best route from Katowice PL. Wife is saying SK, Austria, but to me it looks shorter and quicker through Germany to Basel and down that way, then there is tolls and tax to consider, I can’t make my mind up.

personally down to LINDAU (A) over to WIDNAU (CH) Then ZURICH
CHIASSO VIA THE STRADA TO NOVERA and beyond to your destination via
AOSTA seems the best bet saves money on the italian road charges as the brenner route
would have lots of holiday traffic caravans and such like as well as the trucks
just behave as regards speeding etc in swiss its very expensive, thats why they all
come to germany and speed its much much cheaper the fine as in CH,

it’s cheaper to go by plane.
and even less to thumb a lift.

I would always choose to drive than fly if i had the choice, an airport ■■■■■ the soul out of a day. However this journey requires about 120 kg of baggage, so its cheaper by car and the baggage will arrive on the same day which is a bonus

I’ve just done my holiday to Italy via Swiss. I’m never doing another driving holiday. It’s a bark watching the fuel guage, when you are paying for your own fuel! :imp:

Aye, but you can get a good look at, and enjoy the scenery when you feel like it, instead of having to push on to get the job done. :sunglasses:
