Anyone know the best way here coming from M6(S) , had a quick look on the map and possibly A6 but not sure if there is any low bridges etc , other way would be to go up and round Carlisle to come back down again , it’s DHL dalston lane on address ,
Cheers

Come off at A69 junction r/a left (Tesco on rhs). Past football ground on rhs
. Lights with a filter lane (with a chapel facing you) turn right. Pass a school and a college on rhs.
Next lights on x road right.
Down to massive r.about left,
past castle on rhs next lights left . (Look for Sainsburys on right as landmark)
Through next lights at tall chimney.
Pirellis is less than a mile on left after Crematotium.

As I ALWAYS say on here, …everybody should have a 400 quid sat nav
The route above is correct and fine.
An alternative that is possibly slightly less to think about is:
come off M6 at J44. (so stay on an extra junction)
Left onto A7
Follow nose for a couple of miles. Down steepish hill and accross the river Eden bridge.
Get to same massive roundabout as mentioned on other route, virtually the only one in Carlisle. (Sands center on left, ugly Civic center on right)
Right at roundabout (middle lane). Pass Castle etc.
Under a footbridge, then left at traffic lights.
When you get to tall chimney you want right hand lane for straight on. Keep going.
Follow nose, ignore 7.5t limit as you have no choice. Factory is on left.
The only two low bridges in the area are nowhere near either of the routes.
Cheers lads , thought it would be better to get
Some local or experienced knowledge
I used to go via Dalston and miss out going through Carlisle , there only seems to be the same 7.5t weight limit restrictions wise but it does say accept for access ,
what about coming off at 44 and following the new outer ring road right round until you get to the roundabout where you would turn right onto the A595 for Workington.■■?
at this roundabout go straight on towards crematorium, at next T junction turn left still following crem 3/4 mile sign… you will see Pirelli factory on your right just before the crem.

Yeah, bypass and then Peter Lane is the best large vehicle route for rush hour but equally it has the the most junctions and the longest mileage. I almost wrote it up, but thought ‘what would I do’ and there is no way I’d go all the way around when A7 is such a doddle in a truck. Depends on time of day of course.
It’s a bit strange the the bypass has more junctions than straight through town…!
That bypass is a waste of time. Complete load of toss.
