Pipeline Card

Remember the much trumpeted Pipeline Card?

Formed around 5 years ago when we were all moaning at the cost of Diesel hitting 80p a litre. We thought we had problems then, jeez.

The organiser Ben Scammell claimed to be a “fuel protester” and that his card, once launched would save everyone between 5 and 7 pence off the litre of petrol & diesel.

After countless offers, emails thanking us for our patience and SPAM (lots of it), the card is still nowhere in sight.

Rumours have circulated that Mr Scammell (shouldn’t that be “Spammer”) is in hoc with large utility companies.

Think about it, he has in his possession hundreds of thousands of email addresses and doubtless other bits of personal details too.

Nice. :unamused:

It might explain why British Gas keeps offering to service my boiler cheaper than anyone else, yet I live in an area that has never been connected to the gas main.

I reckon that the Pipeline Card will go down in transport history as the biggest white elephant since Billy Smart’s Circus.

You may disagree.

Comments please. :sunglasses:

Na that’s because of the CSA discs they lost  seriously though VERY VERY TRUE, you carry on my Dazza tell it like it is. In reality how many of us had forgotten about that SPIN

I will be honest and say I had…

But the protesters said they would do XY&Z when fuel went over £1 per litre and like I have said before “nothing ever happens” like the song really innit “nothing happens at all, the needle returns to the start of the song and we all sing along like before??”

Dear ******, We said a long time ago that we wouldn’t contact you again unless we had something specific to say. On the card front, we are actually making some progress and, after being let down by our oil company partner we are in discussions with 3 major supermarket chains. It’s going well, and we’ll keep you up to date. Meanwhile, remember we told you there was a way to save a lot of money on those rising Gas and Electricity bills? It’s happening. Now. Thousands of our members are already saving between £200 and £300 on their bills after switching suppliers. Even my Mum has switched away from British Gas! We really think this is a good deal, so, if you want to know more, please click here → www.AuthSMTP.com, which supports the PipelineCard cause.

Just recv’d this via e mail spooky that this is a new subject and I get this today, seems like they just want your business for Gas and Electric…

It was that very email that prompted me to start this topic. I received it this morning at 10-ish.

My mate unsubscribed from Pipeline last year and he’s still getting spam. :imp:

A card that gets you money off fuel

The only way you will get money off fuel is by spending your pennies in one of the supermarkets when they have their spend £■■ and get xp off every litre, or fill up and drive off without paying.

Also I think the ■■■■■■ might do you a good deal

Commonly known as Bilking…or Theft to the boys in blue

Mad dan:

Oh god, I know things are bad when you start singing Del Amitri. :grimacing:

“Always the last to know” is a better one. :sunglasses:

There have, I think, been a couple of enquiries in recent years to deal with the accusation that the oil companies run as a cartel and fix prices. None were conclusive, yet no major operator wanted to either take the Pipeline scheme on,or start a similar scheme themselves; previous e-mails from Pipeline have hinted that a supplier (I suspect one of the fringe players like Bayford) HAD been found but had backed away.

For the past couple of weeks the price of road fuel has gradually crept up, yet kerosene for home heating has remained stable.

Much as I dislike conspiracy theories, I think we’re being screwed by the oil companies big time.

I remember this. None of the emails were specific, they just kept hinting that an agreement was just around the corner - that was to keep us all signed up.

IMHO this is simply an internet scam (which has worked quite well indeed) and the aforementioned Mr Spammer (sorry Scamell) has racked up a massive amount of personal data.

And British Gas, Utility Warehouse, and assorted Sat Nav companies won’t have paid him a penny.

Yeah, right!

Where’s that flying pig logo?
