it was a stupid idea to start with. get an old knackered truck and turn it into an old pimped knackered truck.
An update on the Pimp My Trick project is a feature in CM last week much as I think Help for Heroes is a disgusting requirement for our injured servicemen and women I fully support the idea.Perhaps Jessica’s Dad you have a better idea to fill the gap Government seems unwilling to provide. And I can assure you this rig has been prepared to the highest standard by generous donations from concerned members of this industry. What have you donated■■?

where have i criticised help for heroes, i think its been a very good charity and one that i have done some work with myself, so stick that in your pipe and smoke it.
you can assure us its being done to the highest standard… im sure it bloody is its only taken 2 years so far.
by the time its finished somebody will buy it just for the alloys cos thats all it will be worth.
apart from the charity aspect its a pointless excersise in scrounging and i would say given the downturn in the economy and business is meant to be slow these companies involved dont seem to be knocking themselves to help. whereas if you had the money and were paying this would have been finished 20 months ago.
i predict this time next year it still wont finished.
The reason it has taken so long, is that everything, including the truck has been donated for free, the bolt on bits are only part of it, all the man hours in refurbishing it, etc also have been donated.
That means a number of different compnaies all trying to fit it in around their paying work, something that has made scheduling a bit of a nightmare.
Once completed it wont just be sold straight away, I hope it is used it as a focal point for H4H events for a while, especially smaller ones that may not have the resources to provide a stand etc.
Once it is sold it is up to the new owners wether they work it or keep it as a show vehicle, I hope it is worked and used as a mobile advert for the charity.
Every penny raised by the truck will go to H4H - money they may not have got if the project hadnt been done.
It may have taken a while to bring the project to fruition, but I personally think that many elements of the industry, from large companies to individuals. working and donating for such a worthy cause is something to be proud of.
good pr rik i wouldnt have expected anything less.
the truck is still a white elephant stuck in someones yard.

either way i want it
just a shame what the base truck is tbh lol
jessicas dad:
good pr rik .
I dont do PR … if I did I would probaly get paid a lot more
just the way it is… it has been a difficult project, once the recission hit it has been hard to take it forward, some people who had signed up for it are no longer in a situation where they can help. others have asked that they delay their support, so yes it has taken longer than anyone of us wanted
But it is going to happen, and it is going to make a difference, at the end of the day, we as the haulage industry made some thing happen, and can help change someones life rather than knock us for trying just for once is it so hard to say " you had a ■■■■ good go"
Just you relax Rikki, you know who I am and I am quite happy with progress although it has been slow through acknowledged problems. And H4H is going to have to go on for many years.

We will get there, and raise some money for H4H along the way, money they may not have got elsewhere, the sweat and tears over this project has been immense , the stress for some has been hard, but they have persereved and forced this through.
It was always going to be a tough project, trying to wrest freebies out of the haulage industry I think we all know is going to be tough the fact it has got this far and is going to go on to make a difference should be something all of us in this industry should be proud of
In a way its OUR truck, OUR industry and OUR people giving something to OUR service men and women in a way that means something to us
This is how it looked when I last saw it at the Retro truckshow at Gaydon.
This thread is the first I have heard of this truck.
Thankyou.
Coffeeholic:
This thread is the first I have heard of this truck.Thankyou.
And hopefully the last What a waste of time and money, no different to blinging up a farm yard tractor or a roadsweepers cart, whats the point! its just a well worn tool that will never be much different to any other truck, a big engine with a wheel at each corner and the office flopping about on the top, its all a bit naff
good luck with the project id love the truck you always get the ■■■■ who knocks people for trying to help our forces all the bssr and regards rowland
Well to be fair it looks good as it is and I never agreed with the tipper body idea. I think the original plans were way over the top and it looks very nice now.
I’d heard about it but didn’t know it was for H4H so I read no further: It’s an 02 plate though, a bit old for all that tat I think. Don’t put a tipper behind it the industry already has that stupid one of Doyles’ with all that Country and Western crap on it. Just another dog turd covered in glitter.
So, what is the plan for this truck once it has been completed?
Is it to be sold? Auctioned? Raffled? Or used for promo work?
