Fleet povo spec [zb] MERC that probably does 50mph pulling a double deck trailer and working for Stobrats.
All true apart from I don’t work for stobarts.
I thought Stobrats did all the tesco work. I know we took the Irish stuff on Stobrats wanted rid of. We used to have the contract at the frozen warehouse at Crick until fairly recently.
Mind we had those povo fleet spec pieces of crap for about a year and half before we got out new Volvos but still get them as spot hires got a few sat in the yard that need a gallon of petrol and a match [emoji23]
I was running with agency at Thurrock RDC. That’s all run in house.
Stobarts do plenty of work there but only pull trailers with there own units.
Which If I a remember correctly it limits what type of trailers they can take. E.g can’t take a 8m trailer if your using a stobart unit that’s a 6x2.
I can’t remember to be honest now.
Very nice mr ginge , what happened to bence? Always thought wmb was from okehampton , didn’t realise they were from gloucester till I saw it on the back of one of their trailers last week

Bence got a bit too much in the end, having to travel 45min-1hr each way as I was only get one night out a week sometimes, constant changes for working weekends/nights 2:30am getting up for work etc. Always liked the look of WMB and they are only 15-20mins from my house so never seen a job advertised (Like Charles Russell and MLC in the area) there so went for it. A lot more chilled here, you know what your doing more in advance, boss’s are sound so should be pretty happy here. Top spec motors help and good variety of work (Bikes, fridges, containers, odd flat load).
I worked for then for just under 4 years, 7.5t then they put me through the class 2!!

Yes, that’s one of the reasons I left, as it was day rate and they’d get you to work long hours, they’re now paying hourly, so I’ve heard and looks like they are struggling for drivers aswell!
Bourton wasn’t too bad except for a couple in the office, Swindon depot, thats a horrid place to work, they couldn’t run a ■■■■■■ in a brewery!!
