Nice comfortable truck to drive (not the fastest when uphill with 26 tonnes of steel on board, but that’s not my problem), and it’s nice to have my own vehicle for more than a day at a time.

So sad! I feel your pain. How much load can you take from the tag axle? 2-3 tons, or everything except raising the tag?
from what I’ve been told, you can fully deflate the airbags, leaving only the weight of the axle itself. but regarding the electrical gremlins, spent half a day at Volvo Gävle today - one Abs error and another one for the engine. The Abs error was probably just a loose connector but the engine error was the pressure sensor for the DPF in the exhaust. A few hours drive from the factory, the sensor comes from Gent, Belgium and takes four days to get here
Hello M havn’t seen you on here for a bit! Each to their own of course but why anyone would want one of those gremlin ridden heaps in favour of a Scaarnia I could not imagine! Build quality seems to be far behind the previous the models, after the lengthy test period its just not good enough in this day and age, ad blue problems, leeking roofs and windscreens, starting after the weekend only after expensive phone call to Gent the list goes on. Anyway, plenty of dealerships around I suppose.

This is the tanker I drive,we are based in Grangemouth and run to Campbeltown daily.I drive the one on the left of the picture (914000) Kim’s and still going strong.
yeah got a lot on my mind with two toddlers and a new house in construction, spent the time at Volvo mostly paying bills on the internet
to be honest, the first FH4 Volvos we got were much better than the newest batch from march 2015, guess the transfer from euro 5 to euro 6 didn’t go all that well.
Oh and that pressure sensor? Mine was truck number three at the workshop waiting for one. Speaks volumes about the supply chain at local Volvo dealerships.
I had some smal trouble with my new 750 i the begining but al ok now. Only trouble now is the timer for heater,it wont start when i set the time. But new update have come so monday night im in the Volvo workshop oh and everybody says its good on fuel but mine is at 68/100km… My old FH610 was 57/100km. Sure im hauling more heavy stuff but still.
Long time lurker here and really enjoy reading these forums. This is my 2014 Peterbilt 386. After to many years of running coast to coast pulling dry vans and reefers I started pulling tanks in 2013. In 2014 I began working on a dedicated route hauling drilling fluid from Texas to North Dakota. It’s 2,490 miles round trip and only takes four days running a relaxing pace while being on electronic logs.
This is my previous truck from last and final over the road job. It was a 2013 Freightliner Cascadia and defiantly one of the most comfortable trucks I’ve ever driven. This company had just replaced their fleet of aging Volvos with these Freightliners. I do miss that truck but not the amount of time I spent in it.
This is my new truck delivered to body builders last week, 9m box body to go on, tuck away tail lift, and a 6m two axle trailer with box body on the back end.
will be getting the keys in March.

Looks fresh that Dan, and I bet it’s nicer to drive than a frigging axor!
Not too fresh ,it’s been painted a year but I only just got around to mot today ,it will be nicer to drive very soon when I’ve swapped the diff for a higher one and put the twin splitter in . Iam not putting it on the road until the new month .
