pickup trucks

just wondering if anyone has leased or hired a pick up truck good or bad views on different makes and what its been like when you’ve returned it is it fair wear and tear with it been a commercial vehicle or have you been stung

Working for a hire company on trafford park we tend be easy going with people.
Most of our kit is out to civils and the like so it gets worked hard and genraly comes back in a state.
Yes we have heard all the storys of kit being returned to other firms, few stone chips so billed for full respray and the like. But that tends to be the big outfits with huge fleets. We only run a few hundred so its not worth getting stupid with people. If you do a load of damage you will be charged for it but the odd mark or small dent its just one of them things. Hope this is of some help to you

Buying a Nissan Navara is like having your truck on the front page of Truck & Driver, a sure sign that you are about to go bust! :stuck_out_tongue:

Hi Gents,

I am a Fleet Enginner traveling all over the dam place, I have had now 2 Navara Tecna,s and I am now on the 3rd one.

I keep them for 3 yrs and do around 150.000 miles per year. They do carry truck engines and gear boxs and diffs from time to time so it dose get used. Tow a big trailer now and again.
In 6 years none of my Navara,s have never had a spanner on then apart from the 18.000 mile service. With the M/Way Work they do I get around 70.000 out of the front pads and around 65.000 out of the tyres, but this is all M/Way work it dose stright lines most of the time. Mile to gallon.
My 08 plate would do not do more that 33 to the gallon even useing the cruise contol it was crap
My 11 plate is a different story, On the M/Way with the cruise on most of the time its doing the mid 40s
My 14 plate I have now just around 10 weeks old and on 8.000 miles, at 1st it was not good around 30 to 35. Now getting into the 40s.
Cheers Welly
