Interesting that no one has slagged off a driver or pulled anyone up over procedures!!!

Or is that reserved for Stobart :imp:

Probably because most of the ones on the Pickfords program arenā€™t complete tools, unlike the Stobart program which is full of drivers with their heads up their own arse constantly spouting out crap about how brilliant they are. FFS the Stobart drivers get all day to do a 50 mile round trip and you would think it was a matter of life or death. That bunch of fairies would be better on a stage as they are nothing but drama queens.

Canā€™t say Iā€™ve noticed many procedure problems anyway, they get the job done with no complaining and without the need to keep telling everyone how difficult their job is. The Stobart big heads should take note for the next series.

Good show, just gotta drop that time limit nonsense, same crap on that digger program, gotta get this 40000ft hole dug in 10mins or jesus is going to get bummed by the devil :unamused:

trouble is in removals we do have time limits to work to. Normally we have to be out by 12 noon for the other people to move in. If we are not, it can get stressful with the new owners waiting with their removal company and our clients wanting to know why we are late. That said, it is still dramatised in the programme.

Similarly if a job needs to be finished, nine times out of ten it has to be finished no matter what time. We are normally booked out on jobs the following day and so finishing the following day is not possible. As much work as possible is booked in so there is never any spare labourā€¦apart from Pickfords who managed to find an extra 5 men for one job :open_mouth: ā€¦I have never been that lucky

When i did removals the jobs were virtually always under estimated regarding the cubic volume (in feet) of the furniture to be moved. The chances of having an extra pair of hands was virtually nil, you went out short handed and grafted till the job was done regardless.

The only time I recall a job as being over staffed was one xmas eve. 15 of us in three pantechnicons pulled up outside this family`s house at 8.15. The job was estimated at around 1500 cubic feet (for those that know) the house was packed and loaded by 10ish, straight round to the new house, unload furniture every where and anywhere, boxes getting unpacked all over any available surface, back to the yard and in the pub for just after 1pm

It was a mad morning but who TF moves house on xmas eve FFS!! :unamused:
