Why do you have to send new photos? - is your current one expiring?
This will be of interest viewtopic.php?f=2&t=106565
Rog i must have had it for a fair while now as you have to do it every 10 years , i have not received a reminder for the photo renewal , just thought i may do it all now
will have a read of the link thanks
cheers graham

What is the expiry date on section 4b on the front of the photocard?
22/10/2022

That is when you need a new photo and not before however you can send in a new one and get what I stated in that link - medical valid until Dec 2018 without actually doing the medical - providing it has not already expired
No matter which way you decide to go the card will come back with 4b stating an expiry date in dec 2018 but that does not mean the photo is invalid from that date because its valid for 10 years from first being put on the card - the new EU driving licence system works that way - if a category needs a medical then 4b is also set to that date = weird but that’s their system
Photos do not need a signature from an approved person - you are thinking of passport photos

its on the renewal form D47P about having them signed ,and a section for the person signing them details to go in
also states in another section that if updating the photo no one needs to sign it ,so i will just send in some frsh photos

Even passport photos don’t normally need countersignature on renewal.
Do photo at a post office - cost £24.50 all inclusive - just take DVLA form if you were sent one for photo BUT I still do not know why because it has a 2022 date !!
As you can see from the link I posted another has used their current passport photo and done it online with the same result - LGV medical next due in 2018
