For those of you that take Pics and Videos when you are driving: what do you use to mount your camera onto the dash to stop it bouncing around and sliding away? I’ve tried propping my iphone up but it ends up bouncing and sliding all over and eventually falling over! so I’ve been looking at those mini flexi tripods for my camera. Ideally I would like something that had a bit of suspension in it - my last motor was a Freightshaker Coronado and it rode like a Black Taxi Cab!
I got a cheap adjustable suction pad phone holder. Pad on one one, moveable arm with holder at the other end. To stop the bouncing I positioned it so the phone is about a cm from the dash then stuck a sock between the holder and dash.

That’s the number of women trapped in a mans body who would berate you for such a scandalous comment on Trucknet if I hadn’t posted this reply!

I need a decent one for my iPhone that will hold it in place sideways, and be able to charge and plug in aux lead all at the same time.
Can find anything anywhere.
This is what I use. Got if from one of those phone shops at an MSA
Suction cup on right to windscreen. Phone horizontally in holder to left. Sock between phone cradle and dash to damp bumps. Smooth video. I would upload some examples, but Tnet doesn’t seem to allow video clips (probably too big) and I don’t have youtube account.

That sounds just the business when you read it.
Can’t for the life of me figure out how it would actually work though!!
Thanks for finding it. At that price it might be worth buying it anyway.

on the bottom of the camera is the tripod mount, it screws in to that, and the suction cup is for the windscreen, you can also get a remote shutter release so that you don’t need to reach over to the camera to take the photo’s
well, i’ll soon find out if its any good or not cause I think I’ve just bought one!
The only issue I can see will be keeping it stable. Maybe I will have to mount it low and put something underneath to cushion it? The camera will probably end up with better suspension than the bloody truck!!!
