Philippines Aid

For anyone interested in donating, here’s a list of some of the charities and what they are doing :

I see plenty of Bbc reporters are there and were asked for food and water from victims. If the Bbc got there i hope they took suplies on whatever transport mode that is available.
The presenters seem pristine in appearance.Maybe in a nice hotel.

I don’t usually give to Foreign aid etc, but did donate £20 to the Philippines fund, because its a hell of a mess, and at least they are trying to help themselves.

I’m sorry but its nature’s way .
Look at africa aid etc was sent and now the balance is ■■■■■■. Its like animal and insect life… produce as many young as possible and 1 or 2 will servive . But because man has intervened more survive putting more stress on the available resources. … man will eventually destroy him/her selfby playing god…

I take your point about Africa and birth control etc, which also applies to the Philippines, but at least they are grabbing a hammer and trying to knock up shelters out of the debris of what was their home.

Fair point but they did that in africa too then in some parts found it was easier to sit back and just accept the aid

Famine from drought and poor education in Africa, whereas the Philippines was a huge storm which flattened and flooded a huge area. A different scenario.

I think you can pop in to most major banks and donate ( DEC) (?)

Donated at Barclays last week, but am not as flush as Dave!

That’s flush, not flash btw

So many of Africas problems are man made ,corruption and endless civil wars. The Phillipines disaster was caused by a natural climatic event. The majority of Philipinos fend for themselves.

you could also say that about Africa or any country really.

each to their own really. I’m not knocking it I just think that every country regardless should pay into a fund to stump up.
I cant remember where it was but they asked for the press and other so called relief agency’s to stay away as they would be using vital resources and they couldn’t cope with the flood of people that they didn’t need at that time…

Theirs an advert for some charity that asks for money for water aid or something saying they had been doing it for some 60 years …60 YEARS Christ if you aint got it sorted in 60years they cant be doing it right…
