I have a colleague who treats it as a personal insult if I don’t end up with a London run. Apparently I get all the ‘cream’, well my milkshake does bring all the …etc, as the song goes.
Anyway I informed him that I remove the sideguards on me trailers so I stay topside of the M25.
Within 3 hours I had a call from me planner asking if I had been removing trailer safeguards.
bald bloke:
We had a bloke like that in my last job he was always asking drivers what and where they were going, if he had a short run he’d moan because “they’ll give me another run when I get back” or if he had a long run it’ll be "bloody hell what am I superman " in other words he’d moan at pretty much everything but he was reasonably well looked after as he had a disabled wife at home so never did nights out or silly long days but he couldn’t see it.
That the chap who had the same ■■■■ easy run and start time everyday normally an 8 hour shift at most (tip Vallence reload Crediton) ?
Maybe had to go round to Tescos and pick up a load of pallets at the most if back early
No not him Graham, but a silver haired bloke who I won’t reveal but I’m sure you’d know him. Nice to see you’re still tuning in .
Had me scratching my head all last night Steve did said person leave the driving side and go into the office pm if you prefer

Winding up gossips,is one of my most favourite pastimes.
Oh yes, me and my planner have one that we feed misinformation to then regale each other with the tales of indignation that he spouts of to who ever didn’t feed him the said misinformation
Left the job. Am about to put in a grievance against the nobs concerned. Also landed myself a nice job elsewhere (somewhere i worked before and the place is good to work at) on days, nice early starts, same run, 1 collection, 1 tip then home, mon-fri days, nice money (60 a week more than previous job on nights!), brand new motor. Karma I guess!

what goes around comes around!!
Well done with the new job mate, but I think I would have faced it out, and not give them the satisfaction of knowing they have forced you out of a job.
Not sure about the grievance thing either, they may look upon it as you being frightened to face up to them personally, and it could come back and bite you on the arse if they meet you in future, especially if they are disciplined or worse still sacked for it.
However mate if you feel you have done the right thing, well that is all that matters,… good luck with new job.
