im a non smoker but smokers are allowed by law to smoke in a works vehicle if there the only ones driving it. not cab hopping.
Smoking isn’t allowed in any work vehicle that more than 1 person uses, eg:
taxis
buses
vans
goods vehicles used by more than 1 driver
company cars used by more than 1 employee
A worker can smoke in a company car that only they use if their employer agrees.

What about those that take it for/do the servicing/MOT/tacho calibration/cover driver/shunters etc etc etc…do they push said vehicle?
There was a guy I met when I was agency, he was always smoking and used to carry a lot of fireworks, that a lot more dangerous than a petrol tanker.
