Petrol services in ITALY will STRIKE as of 14th SEP;2010

Sorry , but have just read this on a site I use in Germany the Italian
services will be striking as of the following TIMES & Dates
Please check that your drivers fill up in time or they may end up
running out of FUEL
as of 2200hrs 14thSEP All SERVICES (TO-DAY)on the MOTORWAYS in ITALY
THE NEXT STEP is 0730hrs15thSep,Wednesday all other members will participate,
The STRIKE is supposed to END on 18th Sep Saturday at 0700Hrs , but who knows
what will happen whatever there will be queues in place for Fuel,
there are 25,000 members who are taking part,in the action.
The STRIKE also includes ALL SERVICES EC CARD/CREDIT fuel services

Does anyone use fuel stations in Italy? It is a long time ago but didn’t the 17 years to claim the VAT back put people off :stuck_out_tongue:

okay Folks the strike is ended they have become what they
were fighting for, after a 3day discussion with the government,the link
below is in German ,so I have just trimmed down and said the result in basic

The announced strike for three days of the service station operators has been called off at the last minute. After only three hours of negotiations, the government has promised the representatives of the tenants € 20 million tax bonus for 2010 and 2011. The bonus will be introduced as a permanent body, if it allows the financial situation, said Secretary of State Stefano Saglia. In addition, the proposed reduction of the fuel distribution system to be reviewed.

When the VAT thing was blamed it was probably the bosses being cute to prevent a plus+++

But the EU has caught up now and the Belgians and Dutch are catching on…

I thought that I better say it first before any one else does
as wheelnut pointed out it only took 3hrs not three days , don,t know
