Pet Regs

How does a pet reg unit differ from a standard unit guys thxs in advance

Sealed sunroof, usually (but not always) steel mudguards, fire screen on the back of the cab, spark arresters in the exhaust, accessible battery master switch (usually have top marker lights illuminated when battery is “live”), fire extinguisher fitted. Probably lots of other things too which have slipped my beer addled mind.

No cigarette lighter so I heard.

There are lots of bits and pieces that change. Some electrical circuits are different also. The vehicle would also need to carry a vehicle approval certificate.

I know of a few drivers that take their dogs er um wives with them

Why not put the full word up ? Petrol or even Fuel in your title you might get a better response

I know when my brother used to take his pet the water used to splash out all over the place both our units were identical but his had a 25ltr drum of water with tap fixed above the bed to cover the loss, I just took my ferret no bother really

In pet reg ,it is also a different tacho ,even though it looks the same ,even the alternator is different

so just a thought but if needed how would you jump start a pet reg unit i asume a jump lead would be a no no

Is that why some tractors have a green light behind the cab, on the offside?

Yes mate, there might be another reason for it too, but afaik it’s just so the driver and terminal staff can visually confirm that the master switch is off prior to loading.

Thanks TM, now I just need to remember who asked me what the light was for, the other week.
