Oh
Another pet hate
Drivers leaving there engines ticking over for ages in lorry parks in the evening whilst trying to sleep and trailer swaps going on all night again in lorry parks or services overnight

You don’t sound like a Happy Trucker to me.
Sounds like I’m not
But generally very happy in what I do
Just baffles me how inconsiderate other drivers can be some times
Hey ho never mind
This Moto scam thing, is that when a dirty smelly trucker nips into the lavatory and tries to clean it self up then presents himself to the staff as a coach driver looking for a freebie. Asking for a friend.

My first couple of years driving trucks I used to carry a shirt and tie so I could get my free breakfasts, lunches and dinners. They did start clamping down on it so surprised to hear it still goes on

Didnt realise that you did a stint for Stobarts Luke
It’s my dirty secret. My legendary status within the beautiful sport we call trans would never survive such a revelation…oh, ballbags
Just to clarify I’ve never worked for Stobart but I have driven a Stobart truck
Ref calling in…
Just do what I do and don’t bother.
A mobile phone is a two way communication device and they can call me if they need me.
A pet hate of mine is the “where abouts are you” type calls, inevitably.give you some work. You know where I am. Stop the crap and just tell me.
I mean i can bet everyone on here pulls in way earlier than expected, normal day your supposed to pull in with a two second/chevron gap when overtaking however if you were to do so trucks in lane 2 will flash you to get over and then drive past as if your lane hogging dammed if you do dammed if you dont
imagine it being slightly wet 4 second gap when overtaking, that truck behind you flashing will just go into lane 1 and undertake you so this is my reason why i pull in relative early but not so early too
Muckaway drivers! Lane two seems to be their default setting loaded or empty. If some berk is attempting to overtake you on a narrow roundabout the odds say it’s a muckaway cretin. They’ll attempt absolutely any manoeuvre to gain 0.5 seconds.
I’ve only been driving Class 2 years but I’ve never blocked a pump. I accept if the main parking area is busy later in the day when trucks are parked up but otherwise I think it’s a liberty. If you are physically capable of driving and have valid medical then surely you can walk from the parking bays and go to the toilet, get a brew, whatever. I got delayed recently as at a 3 pump station when a guy took his 45 minute break. There was ample alternative parking. No need

What a load of pure ■■■■■■■■.
‘‘Everyone on here’’■■?.. You ‘can bet’ wrong mate, so don’t judge other drivers by your own actions.
I have never been flashed at for assumed ‘lane hogging’,.and the 2 Chevron are to do with keeping apart not specifically overtaking, I always leave at least half to 3 quarters truck length before signalling to pull back in, more if I ain’t flashed in.
Then to actually ADMIT you pull in early
…maybe the poor guy you have (almost) overtook would argue as to whether or not it was TOO early eh?
Jeeez H.
When trucks park overnight on the road before the service entrance, effectively reducing it to single lane because they don’t want to pay £20 for parking - yes the parking is nearly empty. Bonus points when it’s snowy/icy (lately) and the road is a hill. Or trucks parking for a 45min break right after the pumps leaving no space to pull forward for the next guy(s) building up a queue.
Going for the overtake when they’re only traveling <0.1mph faster; not leaving enough space side-to-side while overtaking;
Cars traveling before me at 10-15mph below the speed limit (trucks too but rarely, mostly Tesco/ASDA ■■■■ takers trying to milk the clock)
Flashing an oncoming vehicle to politely remind them their high beam is on; they’ll swith to low then flash ME back? Why!!!
