Cats. Not really pets, just arrogant hangers on.
Yep.
If youre putting up shelves or something, a dog will watch you not knowing what you’re doing but just happy to be there whilst a cat will sit watching you, silently judging you and thinking “I wouldn’t do it like that”
My little terrier cross would be trying to nick my tools and run off with them [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

It’s a bit like other examples where attitudes empathy with other drivers have gone down the khazi, mainly because of the ‘quality’ and calibre of many …‘‘drivers’’.
It ain’t THAT long ago when the first thing you did after filling up was pull forward a few yards so as not to block the pump, …as I (and many more) still do.
If I want a coffee or bog,.I can always manage to find somewhere that ain’t ■■■■■■■ other drivers off, but there again not wanting to blow my own trumpet (but I will anyway ) I always try and be considerate towards my fellow driver…whether he’s one of ‘‘The Dicks’’ or not…but that’s just me.
Hi Rob unfortunately common courtesy is dying out apart from us who have been in job from a young age . it’s man mind thy bloody self now … ■■■■■■■■ to everyone else cheers Ray

Yep, you’re dead right mate unfortunately, this job has changed sooo… much,.and only in the last say 10 years?
I ain’t saying that in the old days drivers were in some sort of total solidarity, but we did always help each other out in terms of courtesy.
I’ve seen drivers automatically jump out of their cabs to watch somebody reverse in, I did it only a few weeks ago, and I sensed that the guy took it almost as an insult ffs , nowadays they bury their head in their phones, or worse video you hoping you’re gonna ■■■■ up.
The age old Trucknet ‘flashing in’ debate, it’s about 60% who do it now, the rest can’t be arsed for whatever reason, …Ok yeh, before anybody jumps in with the inevitable comments, we all know not many actually ‘‘need’’ it in real terms, but that ain’t the point, it is just again a display of courtesy,…not to mention a system that worked for years, when unlike today you virtually got NO one cutting in on you because of it …as they automatically waited for the near hand ‘obligatory’ flash from courteous drivers.
How many times nowadays do you sit at a junction before somebody ‘flashes you out’, another example, struggling with curtains on a particularly windy day, most of the feckless 2hats just sit there in a daze watching you .never giving it a second thought.
And now the thread subject…blocking pumps off, it’s just pure ‘couldn’t give a ■■■■ attitude’ whatever anybody comes up with as an excuse.
There are 2 types of drivers…drivers and screwdrivers or aka ‘proper drivers’ and ‘car drivers who just happen to hold a Class1’ (or whatever ■■■■ abc/xyz licence they call it today )
Just look at some of the comments attitudes on this forum, and you can easily differentiate the 2 in a heartbeat…

Then can plan day a bit better have a rough idea of timings where I can stop for my.break etc
While on the subject of pet hates, drivers who buy coffee stickers off ebay (which is bad enough). Then they have the cheek to go into the same fast food restaurant branch every morning, behaving like it is completely reasonable behaviour.

Why would that even come on your radar?
Unless you own a fast food restaurant that is.

I don’t bother anymore. They should know how long their trailer is ( ). 99% of them have pulled back in before you’d flash them anyway . Only times I bother now is based on likelihood of their mirrors being covered in crap due to heavy rain, winter salt spray or low sun. Those times are useful when you can’t see [zb] but even then they’re usually back in already so I just knock CC back for a short while and let them get out of my hair. It doesn’t bother me in the slightest if they don’t flash me. I will stay where I am until I feel the spacing is safe enough for both of us, then move across .

Yeh I know, I didn’t really want to kick off yet another flashing in debate, as it’s been done to death.
I was just giving another example of common courtesy between truckers dying out.
I personally couldn’t give a ■■■■ if I don’t get flashed in, like you I always stop out longer than needed,.and back off a click or two when being overtaken, but as I said drivers no longer flashing in for whatever reason, did instigate the daily cutting in pain in the ■■■■, that we see every day, but I just continue to do it. (flash in, not cut in btw )

So true…Our DAFs have the radar/distance from vehicle in front thing, the numbe of times they’ll pull in with 10-13m between their doors and my front; little bit unnerving on a dual carriageway w no hard shoulder.

Imagine being upset that people are conning McDonalds out of a coffee

Our new mirrorcam Actros thingys have the ACC and radar on them, the amount of trucks that just pull in and it flashes up yellow with the distance (8-10m) is shocking
Why not ■■■■■■■ wait for me to be comfortable before pulling in??

Why not [zb] wait for me to be comfortable before pulling in??
A number of reasons…
Ineptitude, incompetence, a dire shortage of the required skill to drive a vehicle of that size, and any other possibility you can think of.
So…a number of questions arise…
Why are they so many of these wastes of space type ‘drivers’ these days, how did they manage to pass a test on this type of vehicle,.should the criteria for obtaining a licence,.and the actual test be stricter, should they actually be on the road for their own and everybody else’s safety.
Answers on a postcard.
Incidentally,.I once lost it and follwed one of these ■■■■ s into a services after he nearly put me in the hard shoulder ,.(ok I know I shouldn’t have )
I jumped out among the red mist, and opened his door to ask him wtf he was playing at, and I was met with the most gormless looking ■■■■,.(sat there in his hi viz, with an array of studs all over his face and snout) and I thought to myself ‘‘What’s the ■■■■ point Rob’’ , called him a ■■■■,.and got back in and drove off.
Incidentally, if anybody on here knows this type of thing applies to them, what are your comments on why you continue to blag it everyday?
I won’t hold my breath for an answer.

I’d probably do the same but the speed our units are restricted to they’d have had a 45 by the time I catch up to them…
