MMM 4000kms i would think you would need 6 days at least the only way to it is through the Ukraine ,i reccon Turkey then up through Georgia is very dodgy politically never mind the mountain ranges.
Harry Monk:
Yep, an exhibition job Kepstowe Freight Services used to do to Almaty for £13,000 from 1994 to 1998 is now being done for £7,000 by a Turkish firm.
bloody hell, we got £17k for the tilt and £21k for the roadtrain for the 1994 run - that’s maybe why we didn’t do it again after that though?

having thought about it, it was 1993 (august/september) we did it, so definitely didn’t get asked again
Kepstowe were notoriously expensive- they had to be to pay the drivers’ wages - so either I have mis-remembered what I was told or you were even luckier!
Not really, given the delays at the Russian border. I would say 6-7 myself. Perth to Dover has got to be getting on for a full shift.
then along comes a certain willi betz (other cowboy firms are available) with 2 drivers going hell for leather, and bang, youve got your 4 day delivery timeframe, possibly
Yes, there’s no way in the world this load would go on a British truck. British trucks do still go to Russia, we’ve got one leaving for there this week, but it’s only ever specialist stuff, exhibitions, theatre, rock 'n roll etc.
The load is going on a Turkish fridge truck, and is loading next week via Turkey, and Shipping roro from Trabson or Samson to Sochi, he won,t give me the price for the job though just more than 4kâ– â– ?.
