PERSONALISED REGISTRATIONS On Lorries,ERF 1,Etc

Kingtrucker143:
My ERF ec14 had the reg L14 ERF but was kept by the fella I bought the lorry from unfortunately.

Hi Kingtrucker 143

Would that have been an ex Langdons owner driver motor you bought? I’m sure I know that reg from somewhere…

Yes, I think his name was Bernie Fisher, I bought it from Ian Clark who kept the reg for his ERF ec11, he runs his lorries as the Wiltshire Flyer.
Attached picture is when I had it.

Spotted this ERF EC10 Wagon & Drag recently with registration number K172 ERF.

Hmm…I thought so:This ERF EC10 Boxvan-bodied 4x2 Drawbar Trailer Lorry,K172 ERF,is a fairground lorry
It’s operated by Heath Harris to transport his Fun House and Helter Skelter, and was painted white and pink - obviously this ERF is now in an overall white livery:-

Another fairground ERF is ERF ECX 4x2 Tractive Unit-Living Van Artic,S111 OCK,painted in a gold livery and owned by travelling showman,J. Silcock (hence the registration :exclamation:  ),of the Lancashire section.
I understand that both the lorry and registration are now currently owned by Sherman Wynn, who is also a travelling showman

Thanks for that info - nice to know I’m not going completely mad!

His name was Bernie Fishlock and he was an OD for Langdons for quite some years. He sadly passed away a few years ago… I know of Clarks at Burton. They used to have about a dozen motors but scaled right back some years ago and I think he only has one or two now - I guess he’s the son. He must have bought that motor from Bernie when he packed up - cracking spec if I remember correctly…

It was a bit tired when I got it but was a good wagon though, I had to park it up in the end because it was so thirsty.

My friend,Doncaster showman Roger Tuby, has an impressive Foden and Volvo fairground lorry fleet, incuding this
Foden 4000- Series 4325 S108R4, 4000-Series Hiline Sleeper-Cabbed, Boxvan-Bodied, 8x4 lorry, 494 RRT,with the
494 RRT personalised registration  :-

VALKYRIE.

Hi, All,

Can anyone who has ,in years past ,travelled the Beverley to Catwick road remember there being in a garden near the River Hull an old Mobile crane. It stood there for years and it’s reg. no. was HRH999.
I often wondered what happened to it .

Cheers Bassman

BOC have had a plate for years now that they have on a Liquid Oxygen tanker, OXY 1, last time I saw it was on a 6-wheeler DAF (day-cab).
