Ken’s Tipper Hire had KTH reg on most of their new vehicles for several years.

Hi all here is a picture of 6 new FH12 lhd globetrotters ready to go into service on cosecutive P reg with double digits and our signatory GEL. We started this when the K’s came out but only had 3 of those which we did not remove on sale ,they were on the old style globeys and we have retained all numbers after that. Before that we had an odd few such as K9 UP U for which we got stopped by police on the M6 but luckily the copper saw the funny side and let the driver go telling him to get the spaceing altered. We also still have L1TUP which Horry my son still has on his private motor.

Hiya…that Boyse firm (green Scania,s)from Bedford have some personal numbers on their tackle.
Nick the owner has N 80YSE his dad i think G 80YSE nicks daughter (Penny)has P 80YSE.
they have some on the trucks but i can,t remember them.
Mr Boyse would be quite old now and possibly not with us anymore. i hope mentioning his
name and number dos,nt offend anyone.

News from the recent DVLA auction that raised over 4 million pounds.

“Another successful number at the auction was BU11 OCK, the 3rd highest seller which was sold for £29,888 to an Essex based livestock merchant who plans to put the registration number on a cattle lorry.”

and they say that there’s no profits in transport.

Alan Firmin had AF 1 on an AEC Marshal 6-wheeler (or it could have been a Mercury with a third axle added on)

Turners (Soham) Ltd. had M11 ECX on the last ERF ECX built at Sandbach and M11 ECT, the first ERF ECT. Both delivered together with quite some ceremony when they were handed over by ERF directors and senior managers,

oops double take
