Just wondering When would you need a ECMT permit and what additions does it add over the Community Authorisation if any ?

Anybody enlighten me ?

I believe the ECMT or CEMT book is almost obselete since the enlargement of the EEC.

I used one when I loaded from Hungary to Germany or Belgium in an English truck. It was completed between EEC countries and European or Asian countries that were not in the union.

CEMT still in use,
You will find that these permits are still in
use and will be for a while they are being
looked at as to a update but this has not been
finished yet according to the web,

I was reading this the other day and I dont know if its still valid, it didnt really state why one was needed in addition to the CA, and what pupose it served.
