I can’t understand how the Mothertrucker’s program has hindered you if anything. I know most of the girls featured in it personally and Emma the lass from Blackpool actually got a job with a main UK and Irish company after the show. I’m not saying she lucked into it because of her fame but it certainly got more female drivers ‘out there’.

Loads of women owners and drivers in my line of work, if you fancy some challenging Euroland work.
We have two women working in our company and they are as good as the rest of us, sometimes better.
If they are treated with respect with their equal qualifications there should be very few problems. The problem that could arise is the subject of Double Manning which we all do and it is once again a question of respect on both sides, as you would with anyone who has to share a cab with you for several days say on a trip to Spain or Sweden.

Will undoubtedly cheese some female drivers off on here but I genuinely think that the physical limits of a female body simply put employers off.
Fair do’s if you’re simply dropping a trailer or delivering pallets with the aid of a pump truck.
But if there is real, physical, HEAVY graft and handball involved I imagine (however well intentioned) employers will doubt their capabilities.
No doubt there are a modicum of strong lasses out there but they are undoubtedly in the minority.
Essentially, I think the physical constraint of being female does put the mockers on your chances of being taken on.
Then what do I know?
